Bio X ML Hackathon - Team MorphoLogic AI
Our CTO Trevor McKee was thrilled to participate in the Lux Capital Bio X ML Hackathon held October 10-20 2024. As one of 20 teams chosen from over hundreds of applicants, he got the opportunity to work with a fantastic team of biologists, bioinformaticians, data scientists, AI & ML experts, and cloud engineers, over the 10 day hackathon to build something great. The team dubbed MorphoLogic AI was able to build a segmentation pipeline in the cloud that permitted the processing of hundreds of gigabytes of Cell Painting image data from the Recursion Pharmaceuticals open-sourced rxrx.ai dataset, in order to build out a new layer of explainability into the dataset, to aide in bringing in new insights to the understanding of the data.

MorphoLogic AI: Recursion Prize Winners
Thanks to the hard efforts of everyone on the team, we are proud to annouce that we were chosen as the winners of the Recursion RxRx Prize for the most innovative use of Recursion's RxRx data into their Hackathon project. We are thrilled at this honor, and look forward to refining our project over the coming weeks to make it accessible to the wider research and drug development community!
